About Sharon
Sharon R Peterson, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland.
Sharon has been an outpatient therapist providing individual,
family, and group therapy since 1995. She has worked for numerous community mental health agencies and school systems in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Maryland.
A native of Atlanta, Sharon graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BS degree focusing on psychology and criminal justice. She completed her MSW in Social Work from The University of Kentucky. Her first post graduate job was at a community mental health agency in rural Tennessee followed by joining the clinical staff at Sheppard Pratt Health System in Baltimore. Presently, Sharon is in private practice in the Towson area.
Sharon is also a faculty member for The Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training & Education, Inc (IAPTE) and teaches CEU classes for professionals about eating disorders and other mental health issues.

Eating Disorders
In June of 2007 Sharon founded and is currently director of: Eating Disorder Network of Maryland (EDN Maryland), a community-based program made up of professionals, parents & family volunteers who are dedicated to spreading eating disorder awareness and education throughout Maryland.

In 2004, Sharon started Maryland's very first ANAD community support group for individuals with eating disorders, family, parents, and friends.
Meets weekly on Monday
Ascension Lutheran Church, 7601 York Rd, Towson
5:30-6:45.
Meetings have had anywhere from 12 to 25 participating
These meetings are open to the general community
A $5.00 donation is requested (Money collected goes to ANAD headquarters in Illinois so they can continue their nonprofit work helping others with eating disorders)
